Department of Dermatology

The mission of the Department is to be a world leader in the care of skin and patients with skin diseases through outstanding clinical service, education and training, and research.

Faculty in the Department work at a variety of locations within the UCSF system as well as at the affiliated San Francisco General Hospital and the San Francisco VA Medical Center. The Department is based at the Mount Zion campus and offers a wide range of specialty services in medical, pediatric, surgical and cosmetic dermatology. Patient care is also offered at UCSF's Parnassus campus. We encourage you to use our website to learn more about our Department and its people.

AWARD WINNERS....

Michael Rosenblum, MD, PhD, has been awarded a Career Award for Medical Scientists from the Burroughs Wellcome Fund. His research will be on Memory regulatory T cells in inflammatory and autoimmune diseases.

Raymond Cho, MD, PhD, was one of the recipients of the AAD Award for Young Investigators in Dermatology which was presented at the 2012 AAD Annual Meeting. This award recognizes outstanding research by dermatologists-in-training in the United States and Canada, and the educational institutions that support their efforts. The purpose of the award is to acknowledge research contributions that further the improvement of diagnosis and therapeutics in the practice and science of dermatology. .

Dermatology Foundation Awards: for over four decades, the Dermatology Foundation has maintained a critical role in the advancement of the specialty. We would like to announce the following 2012 Research Award Recipients: Clinical Career Development Award in Health Care Policy: Eleni Linos, MD; Physician-Scientist Career Development Award: Michael D. Rosenblum, MD, PhD; Medical Dermatology Career Development Award: Kelly M. Cordoro, MD; Anna K. Haemel, MD; Kanade Shinkai, MD, PhD , Research Career Development Award: Jeffrey B.
